Private sector pulls out of projects
LLX Logistica has announced it is suspending the project to build a port at Peruí be, on the coast south of Sã o Paulo.
The so-called Porto Brasil will now not go ahead for reasons of “financial discipline”.
It is not known whether this decision was determined by the current difficulty in raising investment on international money markets.
Instead, the company will concentrate its investments on Açu Port and at Sudeste Port, which will enter operation in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
