French Engineering firms, Artelia and Egis, have developed the proposal with funding from the French government to rebuild Beirut Port, destroyed by an ammonium nitrate explosion in August 4, 2020. The plan outlines repairs to port infrastructure, re-design of its layout for efficient traffic flow and includes use of solar power for port operations. It omits rebuilding the grain silos that were the most impacted in the blast. Revenues in 2023 were US$150 million, a recovery from the US$9 million in 2020.
