Huang works with transport authorities and infrastructure operators across the UK on the practical deployment of cloud and data technologies, supporting organisations as they modernise systems and extract operational value from digital transformation initiatives.

Cloud infrastructure and scalable data environments are playing a growing role in enabling these systems, particularly where multiple stakeholders require secure and consistent access to operational information. Huang will provide insight into how transport organisations are approaching digital adoption in practice, including governance, integration with legacy systems and the quantifiable benefits of transformation initiatives.

Also joining the session will be:

  • Chris Hicks, Managing Director, TBA Doncaster
  • Tim Morris, Principle Engineer, ARUP
  • Karno Tenovuo, CEO, Awake.AI

The session will examine how emerging technologies are being implemented in port and shipping operations, with a focus on measurable performance outcomes. Topics will include the application of artificial intelligence, digital twins and advanced analytics to improve vessel arrival and departure optimisation, predictive maintenance and data-driven operational planning.

As short sea shipping networks become increasingly dependent on accurate, real-time information exchange, ports and operators are under pressure to demonstrate tangible returns from digital investment. The discussion will therefore explore how AI and analytics tools are being embedded into day-to-day operational processes, and how data platforms can support collaboration across terminals, shipping lines and hinterland partners.
