Collaboration across ever wider areas is key to the success of short sea shipping ports, Coastlink 2026 will be told at next week’s high-profile event in Hull.

Speaking on the opening day of the conference Tracy Jin, Business Development Manager at the Port of Esbjerg, will also highlight the pivotal role Coastlink plays in that vital process.

Speaking ahead of the gathering on The Humber, she said: “I went to Coastlink in Bilbao last year for one very important reason – the port is not just a port, like an isolated point, anymore.

“It needs collaboration, not just with other ports, but also with other shipping partners within the logistics network. I think this is what Coastlink can bring. Last time I saw shipping lines, I saw other ports, I saw cargo owners and logistic forwarders – everybody, all partners within the industry, was gathered there.”

And Tracy added: “I think collaboration is one of the very important things Coastlink can bring perspective on, because the future of supply chains will not be defined by individual ports or individual partners, but how we will connect to it and collaborate with it across the network.”

A specialist in supply chain management, cross-cultural communication, networking abilities and business development, Tracy holds an MBA in enterprise development and a BA in international business, as well as an AP degree in marketing management.

Port Esbjerg on Denmark’s west coast, is the country’s leading offshore port with an annual cargo turnover of 4.3 million tonnes, a hub for cargo transport in northern Europe, and one of the world’s largest originating ports for wind power.

On joining the port in 2024, Tracy said: “We are world renowned for our key role in the offshore wind sector. Now, we need to create the same awareness in the global market about our solutions for the whole supply chain.”
