The Organisation is at the interface between seaports and policy makers

In the frontline of the mission to deliver sustainable port operations in Europe is the European Sea Ports Organisation – ESPO – which will be a Supporter of, and active participant at, GreenPort Congress 2026.
ESPO is the principal interface between European seaports and institutions policy makers. It represents the common interests of port authorities, port associations and port administrations of the seaports of 23 Member States of the European Union and Norway at an EU political level.
The global forum that is GreenPort Congress 2026, 7–9 October, will bring ESPO, industry leaders, policymakers, and environmental innovators together at Portsmouth International Port, UK, where the port community can discuss, learn and adopt environmentally sensitive practices to reduce its carbon footprint.
At last year’s Congress in Valetta, Malta, ESPO was front and centre with Tim Verhoeven, a Senior Policy Advisor – Sustainable Development at ESPO, the first speaker to address the gathering.
For 2027, Isabelle Ryckbost, Secretary General, EXPO and Tim Verhoeven will return to cover environmental and sustainability policy.
Speakers for 2026 will be announced in due course.
