Konecranes has improved safety for forklift operators with a new cabin with increased roof height.

From Q4 this year, forklift customers will be able to buy the OPTIMA Optimal with an extended roof height of 125mm. This extra height gives more space allowing operators to wear a helmet, allows for the installation of cabin extras such as equipment brackets and lighting, and increases visibility.

The new larger Optimal will be available on all Konecranes 10-60 tonne forklift trucks, including the Konecranes E-VER electric forklift.

“The OPTIMA Optimal’s higher roof enhances the safety, flexibility and convenience of the truck,” said Anders Sjöstrand, commercial product manager, Lift Trucks, Konecranes.

“While the cabin has high structural integrity to protect drivers at all times, the helmet is an extra safety precaution when operating the truck in dangerous work environments,” he added.

The additional space also allows the driver ease of movement from a seat with compressor suspension and rear adjustment, while temperature controls and sound absorption give shielding from extreme weather, noise and other environmental hazards.

The taller Optimal cabin can be modified with any of the existing OPTIMA customisations such as turnable seat, armrest mini-steering or lever steering facilitate driving, and a fully-tailored control panel.
