Liebherr has secured a commanding majority of global new orders in 2025, achieving a record market share and reinforcing the company’s leadership in port handling technology.
Heavy-lift mobile harbour cranes have remained central to fleet investment strategies as ports diversified operations to include project cargo, steel and oversized units alongside container flows.
At the same time, electric drive configurations gained significant momentum, offering reduced local emissions while maintaining full lifting capability and duty cycle performance. Portal slewing cranes also played a critical role in bulk environments where berth efficiency and consistent cycle times are essential.

Key 2025 deployments underscored this success, including electric cranes at DP World Constanța, an LPS unit at Nuh Çimento’s port in Turkey, and an LHM 550 delivered to BLG LOGISTICS in Bremerhaven.
A milestone was marked with the 2,000th mobile harbour crane, an LHM 600 handed over to Marcegaglia in Ravenna.
