Associated British Ports (ABP) has appointed Sally Ford as its new group head of health, safety and environment.
Ford brings over three decades of expertise in these areas. She joins ABP from Southern Water, where she served as director of health and safety, security and wellbeing. Her background includes senior roles across critical national infrastructure sectors such as rail, telecoms and water.

“I am a big believer that history is one of our greatest teachers and it is fascinating to see how, as is the case with many industrial businesses, the focus on health, safety and wellbeing has really shifted from seeing them as ‘nice to haves’ to ‘non-negotiable’,” she said.
“I look forward to joining the talented team at ABP and building on this positive momentum by helping to embed safety, wellbeing and a commitment to protecting the environment into everything we do.”
Paul Bristowe, ABP chief of staff, added, “Sally joins us at an important time as we look to further strengthen our focus on health, safety and the environment. We look forward to giving her a warm welcome to ABP and working together to achieve this goal.”
Ford will assume her new position on 13 October 2025, reporting directly to Paul Bristowe.
