The Suez Canal Container Terminal has completed a major expansion that significantly increases capacity and strengthens East Port Said’s position in global shipping

The US$500 million upgrade adds 955 metres of quay and more than half a million square metres of new yard space, supported by 12 quay cranes, 30 electric rubber-tyred gantries and over 90 trucks.

Annual throughput capacity is expected to rise by 2.2 million teu, bringing the terminal’s total capacity to 7 million teu.
