Major port operators in the United Arab Emirates have confirmed that their facilities remain fully operational despite heightened geopolitical tensions affecting maritime traffic in the region.
AD Ports Group said all operations across its business clusters continue as normal, with crisis management and business continuity protocols activated as a precautionary measure.
The company said the measures are being implemented in coordination with relevant authorities in the UAE to ensure the safety of employees, partners and customers while maintaining uninterrupted services.
Ports and terminals managed by the company’s ports vluster across the UAE remain operational, including activities at Khalifa Port. However, the company said vessel calls could decline in the near term as ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has slowed.
“Global trade has historically demonstrated resilience during periods of geopolitical tension,” said Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, managing director and group chief executive of AD Ports Group.
“Through disciplined execution, operational excellence and proactive risk management, AD Ports Group remains well positioned to support supply chain stability and uphold its commitments to customers across its global network.”
The company said most of its 122 vessels operating within its Maritime & Shipping Cluster are currently sailing outside the Strait of Hormuz, with those within the waterway continuing to operate intra-Gulf services. The overall impact on its shipping, logistics and free zone operations is expected to be limited.
Separately, DP World confirmed that operations at Jebel Ali Port are continuing without disruption.
The company said it is closely monitoring developments and has implemented enhanced safety and security measures across port facilities. Jebel Ali Port, the largest port in the Middle East, handles more than 15 million teu annually and serves as a major trade gateway linking markets across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
