WSC warns of cargo deficiencies

The World Shipping Council has released a new report highlighting persistent deficiencies in cargo safety, revealing that 11.39% of inspected shipments in 2024 contained issues

These deficiencies include undeclared or mis-declared dangerous goods, faulty documentation and improper packing, all of which pose significant risks, including the potential for shipboard fires.

The report calls for greater data sharing and stronger global shipping standards.
