UK Shore Power

The UK government is accelerating maritime decarbonisation for ports by switching to emissionsreducing shore power. The decision is part of a dedicated programme to stimulate innovation of new, green technologies in the UK to foster private investment to help create jobs and revitalise coastal communities. The UK has a dedicated Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition, which provided £23 million (US$31 million) in 2021 to fund more than 55 decarbonisation projects.
