The provisional programme for the 2025 GreenPort Congress is now available with some notable names being added to the line-up of speakers for the two day event being held in Malta in October.

This year GreenPort Congress is joining forces with Transport Malta, the Shore to Ship Conference and EOPSA

GreenPort Congress is a premier platform for learning and networking, bringing together port authorities, terminal operators, logistics professionals and environmental experts from the global maritime and logistics sectors.

Programme preview

Across the two-day event running form 15 to 17 October, attendees will gain insights from leading experts on key topics including carbon reduction, renewable energy integration and the future of eco-efficient maritime trade, all designed to shape the next generation of green ports.

The Congress will be kicked off by the joint hosts of the event, with a welcome by Norbert Grech, senior manager - Onshore Power Supply - Grand Harbour Shore to Ship Project, Transport Malta & member of board of directors, European Onshore Power Supply Association (EOPSA) and Roland Teixeira de Mattos, president, EOPSA.

Day one will also feature an important discussion on strategy for resilience and decarbonisation with Isabelle Ryckbost, secretary general, ESPO and Lamia Kerdjoudj, secretary general, FEPORT. They will look at challenges for EU ports and outline their expectations at a time when the European Commission is developing the EU Ports Strategy.

The conference will also see Niels van Kouwen Maritime and resilience consultant/specialist at HaskoningDHV, talk about the development of a new guide on implementing Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in ports.

Ignacio Benitez, PhD, senior project manager at Fundación Valenciaport, will talk about the BlueBARGE Project, which develops a modular, flexible offshore power-barge to reduce emissions from moored and anchored vessels.
