Konecranes grab bulk unloader order from Bristol

Delivery is due in June 2005.

Bristol and Avonmouth routinely accept Capesize vessels of up to 130,000dwt.

The port has ordered the unloader to increase shipdischarging capacity. Its main use will be discharging coal and animal feed.

Portbury Dock is recognised as one of the most environmentally advanced multi-cargo bulk terminals in Europe. The grab unloader boasts operational and environmental advantages for fast and safe throughput at the terminal. It has a lifting capacity of 28 tons and an unloading capacity of 1,200 tons per hour. It features Konecranes’ AGD (Advanced Grab Drive) control system which offers a wide range of operation modes, especially suitable for efficient elimination of dust.
