Konecranes is to supply eight more straddle carriers to the USA’s Maher Terminals LLC, which when delivered, will take Maher’s Konecranes fleet to 27.

The straddle carriers will be identical to those already delivered and will be equipped with Konecranes electric drives and power train components, said to ensure high durability, reliability and performance, while keeping operating and service costs low.
In keeping with Maher’s ‘green’ initiatives, they will also be equipped with the latest Tier4i, low emissions engine technology and will have a hoisting capacity of 40 tonnes in single container operators, and 50 tonnes in twin-twenty operation.
In addition, they will feature Konecrane’s Fleet Management System.
This will be Konecrane’s third straddle carrier delivery to Maher Terminals, which operates the largest container terminals in the ports of New York and New Jersey and has a fleet of over 185 straddle carriers.
The equipment will be delivered in June 2015.
