Vizhinjam Port has received its first ship-to-shore crane at its new container terminal. The greenfield port is due to commence operations by the end of the first half of 2024, although local reports indicate there may be further delays. The port is owned by the Government of India’s Kerala State but will be operated and maintained by the Adani Group under a 40-year concession. The port is located near the southern tip of India, around 350km from Colombo, Sri Lanka.
