Tideworks Technology has successfully completed an advanced integration project with Freightliner Ltd helping the operator simplify complex rail bookings, achieve faster operations and improved data accuracy.
The system connects Tideworks’ Intermodal Pro (IPRO) with Decisions, a low-code automation platform, enabling rule-based planning and smart decision-making.
“This integration marks a great step forward in Freightliner’s digital evolution,” said Thomas Rucker, president of Tideworks Technology.
“By streamlining complex rail bookings with intelligent automation, we’re helping Freightliner reduce planning time, improve data accuracy and increase terminal throughput.”
Automated booking
Tideworks’ Business Rules Engine and Planning API automate booking assignments to virtual railcars, significantly reducing manual processes and enhancing consistency across terminals.
Freightliner’s terminal systems manager Chris Cavanagh said: “Our team worked closely with Tideworks to roll out this integration across our network of UK terminals and we’ve already seen improvements in planning speed and consistency.”
Mr Cavanagh said that this project underlines the growing demand for adaptable and scalable systems in rail logistics.
With cloud-enabled infrastructure and API-friendly architecture, the deployment supports Freighliner’s long-term goals in port digitisation and operational efficiency.
Freightliner and Tideworks have partnered since 2008. Their latest initiative with Decisions reflects a continued commitment to advancing port automation and supporting data-driven performance in the evolving intermodal sector.
