Cargill remains at Santos
Cargill has been given permission to continue exporting soya, millet and derivatives from its grain terminal in the port of Santos despite its concession having expired.
It has been granted an emergency operating contract by the port authority to continue making use of the Sugar Export Terminal (Teag) in which it is a major shareholder.
The contract will last until a new tender is issued for this facility.
Cargill was first granted an operating concession in 1985 and this has been extended twice since then.
It now seems certain that the company will bid for a further concession.
