Bridgestone unveils new reach stacker tyre
Bridgestone has unveiled a new tyre designed for use at US ports and terminals.
In tests, the V-Steel Container Lifter G-Smooth (VCLG) 18.00R25 port tyre performed better than Bridgestone’s V-Steel Container Handler S, delivering better heat resistance, an improved load capacity and extended tyre life.
“Bridgestone is pleased to introduce the new and innovative VCLG port tire into the market,” said Rob Seibert, president, Off-the-Road, US and Canada, Bridgestone Americas.
“Given the unique conditions of the port segment, the VCLG has been specifically designed to meet the demanding needs of reach stackers, keeping operations moving.”
The VCLG is the latest addition to Bridgestone’s growing portfolio of tyres for the port segment.
Features include a reported +6% load capacity and 20% longer tyre life along with increased resistance to tyre heat generation.
The company manufactures port tyres for empty container handlers, load container handlers, straddle carriers, and automated guide vehicles.
Its portfolio includes the recently launched V-Steel Port Container Straddle radial tyre, specially designed for straddle containers.
