Port of Bilbao unveils digital overhaul

The Bilbao Port Authority has unveiled its 2025–2030 Digital Transformation Plan, a comprehensive €18.1 million programme designed to modernise the port’s technological infrastructure, reinforce security measures, improve operational efficiency and strengthen the competitiveness of its logistics ecosystem

Presenting the plan to the port community, Ivan Jimenex, president of the port authority, stressed that digitalisation offers a major opportunity to build a more connected and sustainable port capable of meeting sector challenges.

The plan is structured around 17 strategic projects, covering six key areas: infrastructure and connectivity, automation and AI, security, digital workplaces, information systems, and logistics and transport.
