TIC4.0 advances global terminal standards
The Terminal Industry Committee 4.0 (TIC4.0) has held its general assembly at The Terminal Hub in the Port of Valencia, organised by Fundación Valenciaport, which also serves as general secretariat for the association.
The event on 3 April gathered over 60 delegates from partner organisations to discuss the latest advancements in digital standardisation across port terminal operations.
A key highlight of the assembly was the progress on developing a standard to describe operational processes within port terminals. This standard will enable the creation of digital replicas of these processes through the use of a harmonised language (ICT4.0) which will help enhance efficiency.
TIC4.0 is also working with the British Standards Institution to obtain a public available specification, marking a crucial step towards creating an ISO standard for global operational standardisation in terminals.
TIC4.0 is a global, non-profit association with 66 members, including terminal operators, port equipment manufacturers and digital solution developers.
