A new tablet has been launched that enables real-time geolocalisation of container handling equipment activity to save time and increase efficiency.
TGI Maritime Software's TGIBox was developed in collaboration with Somacom and features vital information including container weight, spreader height, last completed activity and number of containers loaded by equipment in use.
A central TGIBox communicates in real-time with each TGIBox in Container Handing Equipment (CHE) to get the DGPS position of each container at the time of spreader locking and unlocking. Thus, CHE position and containers positioning are transmitted in real-time to a terminal operations management system.
"We designed our TGIBox to address two pain points expressed by all our customers : Make the job of container handling equipment drivers easier and get a timely and accurate inventory of the container yard," said Marc Boyer Chammard, CEO of TGI Maritime Software.
